After I Disclosed My Bipolar Disorder

There are risks and benefits to disclosing that you have bipolar disorder.

The person you see today that speaks confidently about her bipolar 2 diagnosis did not exist years ago. It is important for those viewing and following my journey to know that I have been in a dark place. There was a time where living a great life was only a dream in my head.

What I’m sharing here is that after I left the mental hospital at 19 years old, I thought that hiding my diagnosis of bipolar 2 would be easy. Sure, it’s easy to keep quiet, but keeping it a secret negatively affected my life.

Watch the video. I discuss a life-changing event; the public disclosure of my bipolar disorder.

I see hope in your comments and response videos. Sharing this video on YouTube, FaceBook, Twitter or your other social media may potentially help someone who is in need of hope. Our community is filled with love, color, and strength and it deserves to be shared.

Thank you for allowing me to share my story with you. I hope you’ll share your experience with hiding or disclosing your bipolar disorder. Comment below or send a response video to info@ healthyplace.com.
