Bowing Out--Goodbye, and Thank You

March 6, 2018 Cheryl Slavin

Cheryl Slavin says goodbye to HealthyPlace to better care for herself and her anxiety disorders.Saying goodbye has never been easy for me. Usually, I would obsess over my decision to stop blogging on this website. Unfortunately, I just don’t have the time to devote to writing that I would like because of my full-time job and family responsibilities.

I have enjoyed sharing my thoughts about anxiety with readers and I did notice the kind comments. I appreciate that you have followed me throughout some difficult topics I’ve discussed, especially some of the more personal aspects of my anxiety disorders. But the added pressure of having any sort of deadline has given me more anxiety than I anticipated. I’m going to continue to write on my personal blog when I have time. But for now, the dream of writing consistently in a formal forum will have to wait.

Thank You, and Take Care

I also appreciate all of you and the enormity of your struggles. Life is hard enough without the complications that any sort of mental illness can bring. I admire your strength, and I also admire your willingness to share your opinions and stories despite the mental health stigma that might ensue. Stay brave and stay beautiful. Don’t let the ignorance of others deter your determination to thrive. Most of all, take time to take care of yourself.

And now, I must follow my own advice and use the self-care tools I’ve discovered. Thank you all. It’s been a significant and rewarding experience sharing my thoughts with you.

I wish the very best for you and your family. I certainly can relate to the pressure of deadlines and so might else we endure. I will jump on your blog and follow that along with twitter. I left Facebook years ago due to personal problems with old friends and family both along with those I no longer wish or need to keep up with. Good luck to you and the best of Health and mental health to you.
