Why a Playlist of Calm Music Helps Anxiety

November 20, 2019 TJ DeSalvo

Music is one of the most important parts of my life and a playlist of calm music is one of my necessities. I’ve written about it before on this very post: "Music as Anxiety Relief." Today I want to revisit a very specific facet of this topic.

My Playlist of Calm Music

Several years ago, I made a playlist of calm music to put on when my anxiety flares. It was a wonderful decision – every time I feel overwhelmed, I go into my room, turn off all the lights, put it on and just listen. I want to talk a little bit about why my playlist of calm music is so important to me.

Music can be so powerful! I think this is such a wonderful tool and practice that people can incorporate for so many things, especially for anxiety. Having a practice like this in place is such a comfort, and with the ease of taking our music everywhere these days, we can always have this tool with us. Wonderful suggestion.

I have all my music in the cloud, accessible to me on my phone at all times. It absolutely is a comfort, not just for anxiety but for anything.
