Bulimia Nervosa: Assessment on the Effectiveness of Available Treatments

www.bulimiaguide.org With support by a grant from the Hilda and Preston Davis Foundation, ECRI Institute recently completed an updated assessment on the effectiveness of available treatments for bulimia nervosa. Our report, which is located for free on www.bulimiaguide.org, is intended to help individuals with bulimia nervosa, their family members, and friends understand which treatments work best. We found some new and promising results in this updated systematic review, namely that cognitive behavioral therapy is more effective than antidepressant medications and supportive therapies in improving eating disorder symptoms.
