I am currently in a Dialectical Behavior Therapy Day Program. I think DBT is pretty awesome. Other ways of coping with triggers would be mindfulness practices, distress tolerance skills, and radical acceptance. Or trying to change the situation and using Wise Mind.
I do not have borderline- but I do have some characteristics. I have a mood disorder. I just think DBT is like emotional kindergarten- it is what "other people" learned to do automatically, and some of us didn't. It is so useful.
