Leaving the 'Living a Blissful Life' Blog

July 1, 2020 Michael Bjorn Huseby

I've loved writing for the Living a Blissful Life blog at HealthyPlace, but the time has come for me to move on. Here, I'll leave you with a few parting thoughts about how to live a happy, fulfilling life.

Take Risks

If you stay within your comfort zone, you'll never experience all of the flavors life has to offer. In my opinion, taking risks is often a win-win situation. If you succeed, you will have accomplished something that would have been impossible if you hadn't taken the plunge.

Even if life doesn't turn out as you planned, each setback can be a learning experience. Plus, you might have increased gratitude for what you have. For example, if you've always lived in the same city, you might try moving to another part of the country. Even if you decide to move back after a while, you might be more thankful for the comforts of home.

Nothing Lasts Forever

Everything is impermanent. Whether you feel terrific or terrible, the sensation will subside eventually. If you're having a bad day, take a deep breath and realize that tomorrow gives you a chance to reset and try again. Everyone gets sad, angry, or anxious from time to time, but it doesn't last forever.

Positive emotional states are transitory, too. If you're on top of the world, make an effort to bask in the glory of the present moment. If you're with friends or family, love them as much as you can — you never know when you'll see them again.

Everything's Connected

Your body, mind, and spirit are all related to one another. If you neglect your physical health, your mental health might suffer, too. I'm convinced that staying physically active and eating nutritious, whole foods is an essential part of living a blissful life. Get out in nature. Even walking barefoot in the grass can be a pleasurable experience that helps you reconnect to the Earth.

Plus, we're all connected to one another. Something as simple as random acts of kindness or wishing for others to be happy can elevate your mood. Look out for one another — we're all in this together.
