I was curious if you could give me and my friend some tips. In one of our classes we have to do a project where we have to create something from the ground up. It doesn't have to be big, but the goal is to make it something we could continue for years. Something that will help our community. My group wanted to do something with helping with self-image and self worth. I know a lot of teenagers struggle with feeling important and good. We already made a little survey to see how everyone feels about themselves. After we get the results and we come up with an idea for a club or an after school activity to help people stay positive. If you have any ideas or tips I would greatly appreciate an E-mail. I would also appreciate it if you took our survey. Its www.surveymonkey.com/r/2vsll3c please pass it on as well if you can. We really need help getting this out there we have tried everything and it would really help us if you passed our survey around to your friends or family etc. Thank you
Hi Dear Miss
I want to buy your book, Express Yourself: A Teen Girl's Guide To Speaking Up And Being Who You Are. But I don't have access to its content. It's so important for me to know it. If possible inform me about it. I've come to pick your brain.
Thank you. yours sincerely. E. A.
I just finished reading the book express yourself for teens and i liked it until i got to the chapter on romantic relationships. What about the ones who dont have a relationship or anyone interested in them? How do i not feel left out. I felt left out of my peers, and now i feel left out of this book... :(
Hi Shannon! I've been in your shoes. The best way to feel good with or without a relationship is to start loving yourself more and more each day. When you feel good about yourself you will attract the right partner. Try and think of it like this "if it's not this it's something better." Email me at emilydrue@gmail.com and I can give you more advice. You are awesome and someone WORTHY will be attracted to you.
Hi emily, can you make a video for mental or physcial rehabilitant to build their self esteem, during the recovery period?
Emily, I'm looking forward to be involved in using your tools, as I have suffered all my life with poor self-esteem! I'm also ready to put some goals ahead of me to overcome many mental illnesses!! Its uncanny that Ive had all this turmoil in my life, but my entire childhood I was a champion swimmer from ages 8-16. So why can't I apply myself today as I did then?? Yes, only Coleen knows that answer!? Time to be a Champion again, and putting ME first!!!
Hi. I need some good material on helping my 9yr old w low self esteem. I'd love to do a workshop w her. We live in mass. But I'm willing to travel.
You mean I can learn to be happy and confident??
It seems very abstract........
Compared with other,I always feel inferior or not good, I always depend on others . I want to learn how to become much more confident ,independent. How to do this? Is it possible?
I agree with you about self esteem, confidence and its all up to the individual. I've just been diagnosed with Bi Polar. It hasn't been easy the past few weeks but I'm determined to fight this head on and get back on track. I believe in myself and I will do this.
Enjoyed reading you're blog :)
Hi, I come from Hong Kong . I have a question.
Actually , I did many things why i can't aware the feeling?
Thank you ~
Do you mean that you cant become aware of the feelings? If so I am glad to help, sometimes we get so overwhelmed with staying in "our head" that we cant become aware of how our body responds to stress or get in touch with our sense of self. Once we do this we have a better opportunity to connect and learn what we need. Does this help answer your question?
Like so many others who have contacted you, my self-esteem is in the toilet. I came across some of your articles while looking for books on thinking positive and self-esteem. I was just wondering if your book had come out already or when it would be available for purchase? I was also wondering how do I sign up to receive the weekly articles you send out or your blog?
Hi There! Thanks for reaching out. Book is still in the works-however, I do believe you can sign up on HealthyPlace or every Wednesday check back- that's when my blog is up.
Take Good Care,
Emily
